Where do graduates work? Name employers and roles

Potential careers include professional manager, management specialist, researcher, consultant, lecturer and business/management analyst, depending on research specialisation and professional experience.

One thing that makes it different at UTP

A structured research rhythm — proposal defence, twice-yearly progress registration, and a mandatory Annual Postgraduate Conference — that gives candidates regular checkpoints and presentation experience. Verify framing with Faculty.

The Research Behind It: Which area, centre and academics?

Research areas span accounting, auditing and taxation; finance, banking and insurance; management and administration; marketing and advertising; and other business/administration fields. The programme is housed in the Management & Humanities Department. Programme Leader: Dr Rohani Salleh.

Cost & Funding: Which scholarships and aid apply to this programme?

UTP's programme page does not identify a programme-specific scholarship. Eligible research students should check UTP Graduate Assistantship/Graduate Research Assistantship opportunities, supervisor-funded research projects and external sponsorships.

Student life: What should an applicant to this programme know?

Students should expect a research-intensive experience with supervisor guidance and independent research. A key milestone is the Research Proposal Defence (RPD). After passing RPD, students register for Research Progress, with the Annual Postgraduate Conference (APC) held in May.
