Introduction

UTP’s Centre for Foundation Studies (CFS) prepares students for undergraduate study through two Foundation streams: Engineering & Science, and Business Management & Computing. UTP also offers the GMI-UTP Foundation Programme (GUFP) with the German Malaysian Institute, using UTP’s curriculum as a pathway to undergraduate study at UTP.

Choose Engineering & Science if you plan to progress into engineering, applied science or geoscience. Choose Business Management & Computing for Business Management, Computer Science, Information Systems or Information Technology. Check Entry Requirements for the grades required.

The UTP Foundation Programme takes one year to complete.

You can progress to a UTP undergraduate degree after meeting the required final CGPA. The minimum is 3.00/4.00 for most engineering programmes and 2.00/4.00 for technology, business and computing programmes. Check Entry Requirements for programme-specific criteria.

More than 70% of UTP students receive financial sponsorship, study loans, or merit scholarships from PETRONAS, governmental bodies, or corporate partners.
